Suitable plumbing work
This route can cover leaking radiators, replacing radiator valves, moving or adding radiators, alterations to heating pipework and some water-based underfloor-heating work. Include the number of affected radiators, whether the problem is throughout the property and the type of heating system if known.
Uneven heating may have several causes. Avoid claiming that a particular part has failed unless it has been tested; describe the symptoms and let the tradesperson investigate.
Gas boilers need the right engineer
A plumber who is not Gas Safe registered may carry out some water-side work, but work on a gas boiler, gas appliance, gas fitting or the final connection to a boiler must be done by a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer. Check the engineer’s card and the categories of work shown on the back.
Information that helps with a quote
Note the radiator type and approximate size, the floor it is on, whether floors are solid or suspended and whether pipework is visible. For planned additions, explain the intended room use and whether decorating or floor repairs are part of the request.
