How our guides are made

Editorial policy

Our content should answer a homeowner’s question clearly without inventing local facts, prices, qualifications or guarantees.

Source standards

Safety, legal and utility claims are checked against primary or authoritative UK sources such as GOV.UK, HSE, Ofwat, the ICO, water companies and recognised safety bodies. Source links appear on the relevant page so readers can check the current guidance.

What we avoid

We do not invent testimonials, local offices, response times, trader availability or “average” costs without evidence. Location pages must contain reliable local information and a genuine reason to exist; changing only a town name is not enough.

Commercial independence

PlumbAgent may earn commission from an enquiry, but this does not allow a provider or tradesperson to buy favourable editorial statements. Commercial relationships are disclosed separately.

Review and corrections

Each substantive guide carries a publication or review date in its structured data. High-risk safety links are checked during scheduled reviews. Send a factual correction with the page URL and supporting source to hello@plumbagent.co.uk.
